TrueNoord, a leading regional aircraft leasing company, has sealed a significant deal with Embraer (NYSE: ERJ) to purchase 20 brand-new E195-E2 aircraft.
The agreement, valued at $1.8 billion based on list prices, also includes options for up to 20 additional E195-E2s and 10 E175-E1s.
This move marks a key waypoint for TrueNoord as it strengthens its position in the global aircraft leasing market.
Landmark Agreement for TrueNoord
Anne-Bart Tieleman, TrueNoord’s CEO, described the deal as a “landmark agreement.” He emphasized that this is the company’s first direct order with an aircraft manufacturer, a major milestone.
“This step highlights our commitment to growing as a global leasing platform,” Tieleman said. “We’re investing in next-generation, fuel-efficient regional jets to meet the needs of our airline partners worldwide.”
The Embraer E-Jets, particularly the E195-E2, stand out for their efficiency, flexibility, and top-tier performance. These qualities make them a perfect fit for TrueNoord’s customers, who operate in diverse markets.
By partnering with Embraer, TrueNoord aims to enhance its offerings, providing airlines with aircraft that deliver both economic and environmental benefits.
The E195-E2’s advanced technology supports lower fuel consumption, reducing operating costs and emissions—a win for airlines and the planet.
Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “TrueNoord’s order is a strong vote of confidence in the E2 family’s capabilities,” he said.
“The E195-E2 offers unmatched performance and efficiency, making it an ideal choice for lessors and operators looking to modernize their fleets.”
Growing Regional Market Demand
Meijer also noted that the deal signals growing market demand for sustainable, appropriately sized aircraft, reinforcing the momentum behind next-generation small narrowbody jets.
TrueNoord specializes in full-service regional aircraft leasing, offering solutions like leasing, financing, fleet transitions, and asset management for aircraft with 50 to 150 seats.
The company currently manages a fleet of over 100 modern turboprop, regional jet, and crossover aircraft. These are leased to more than 30 operators across 24 countries, connecting remote regions to urban hubs and supporting lower-demand routes.
This strategic order positions TrueNoord to meet the rising global demand for efficient, eco-friendly aircraft.
By expanding its portfolio with Embraer’s cutting-edge E-Jets, TrueNoord is well-equipped to support airlines in building sustainable, cost-effective operations for the future.
