A Qatar Airways Boeing 777

A Qatar Airways flight en route to Hong Kong from Doha, Qatar diverted to Ahmedabad, India after reporting cabin pressure problems on 14 October 2025.

A Qatar Airways flight QR816, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, was en route to Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

The aircraft was performing a scheduled service from Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH).

Whilst in cruising flight to the west of Ahmedabad on flight plan track, flight crew reported a malfunction with the aircraft’s cabin pressure system.

A normal descent was initiated and a precautionary diversion to Ahmedabad International Airport (AMD) was carried out.

The flight subsequently landed without further incident on runway 23 Ahmedabad International Airport, approximately 40 minutes after the technical fault was reported.

Flight data shows that flight QR816 and departed from Doha Hamad International Airport at 9:17 AM local time on 14 October.

Following departure, the flight had set course normally, climbing to flight level FL330 for the easterly service to Hong Kong.

The flight was at cruising altitude approximately 100 nautical miles to the west of Ahmedabad when the pressurization issue was encountered.

The aircraft conducting the QR 816 service to Hong Kong International Airport was a Boeing 777-300ER, registered A7-BOB.

This is a 16 year old widebody aircraft belonging to the carrier Qatar Airways. Since November 2021. Prior to its present service, the aircraft was operated by Cathay Pacific from its initial delivery from the factory in October 2009.
